Samsung has wasted no time in responding to the earlier announcements made by Asus about its new tablets. The South Korean tech giant has announced that it would soon be launching two new versions of its Galaxy Tab 3. The standard version of Galaxy Tab 3 already in the market has a display size of 7 inches. The two newly announced versions, on the other hand, would come with 8 inch and 10 inch screen sizes.

The TFT display of the 8 inch version would come with WXGA resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and would have a pixel density of 189 ppi. Other important technical specifications of this version include a 5 megapixel backend camera in addition to a 1.3 megapixel shooter at the front. The tablet would come with a moderate processing power at 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, in addition to 1.5 GB of RAM memory. Two storage options of 16 GB and 32 GB would be available for the users. Besides, support for microSD card is also present for storage cards up to 64 GB.

Speaking of the 10.1 inch version of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, interestingly, the resolution is similar to the 8 inch version: 1,280 x 800 pixels. As a matter of fact, the technical specs of the 10.1 inch version of the device have been significantly toned down compared to the 8 inch version. For instance, on the 10.1-inch version, we have 3-megapixel backend camera along with a 1.3 megapixel frontend shooter. Other than that, the RAM has also been toned down to 1 GB compared to 1.5 GB of the 8 inch version. The processing power, however, has been increased to 1.6 GHz.

Storage options for both versions are same: 16 GB and 32 GB with the additional support for microSD card. Besides, both versions would come in WiFi-only, 3G and LTE variants. On both devices, the latest version Google OS, Android 4.2, would come preloaded. Finally, the battery power for the 8 inch version is 4,450 mAh while that of 10.1 inch version is 6,800 mAh.
Samsung announced that both these devices would be released in the market during early June. However, the exact date has not been announced yet. But it would certainly be interesting to see how these tablets perform in the competitive market, particularly when we consider that they don’t have any extraordinary specs to boast of.

A new report says that Samsung is planning to debut full HD screen which would be used in smart phones displayed during CES 2013. So far it is not clear whether this full HD screen would be used on the next model of Samsung Galaxy phone or some other phone. Full HD displays are certainly among the most coveted and must have features for smart phones during 2013. However, these screens would be large enough to be utilized on the devices which would be included in the phone and tablet hybrid category.

The report was released by a Korean newspaper according to which Samsung has manufactured a 4.99 inch touchscreen having a resolution of 1080p and pixel density of 441ppi. The resolution of this display is the same that HTC has also been planning for its Droid DNA, although the pixel density of HTC device is one point lower to 440ppi.

It seems unlikely that Samsung would be able to display the hardware that would be used with this panel during CES 2013. This is because the manufacture of hardware would be done in the late first quarter of 2013. This means that Samsung, just like LG, would only showcase the HD displays during CES 2013.

Two most probable choices for these full HD displays from Samsung are the next model of Galaxy phone and Galaxy Note. But since the size of the display is 4.99 inches, chances are that it would be utilized on Galaxy S4 since Galaxy Note would need larger size. However, this is not completely sure since there is not a huge difference between the display of Galaxy Note and this new full HD display.

On the other hand, there are also chances that Samsung might introduce an entirely new device to fit this display size. Rumors suggest that Samsung would make announcement for Galaxy S4 during March 2013, which is a bit early, considering that Galaxy S3 is still selling like hot cakes. Samsung might be planning the event just for the launch of this mysterious 1080p display smart phones instead of Galaxy S 4. For that, we would have to wait for more information or some official announcement. So far, we can keep our fingers crossed for CES 2013 which would take place on 8 January.

Samsung has just announced a much faster 64GB memory chip to be used in smart phones and tablets. This chip, according to the company, is 20 percent faster and a third faster compared to the present chips used in these devices.

The new 64GB chips made are known as eMMC (embedded multimedia card) and these chips would be able to read data sequentially at up to 260 megabytes per second. Besides, the chip would also have the ability of writing data at the speed of 50MB per second, which is about 10 times faster than Class-10 rated external memory cards.

Samsung’s 10-nanometer class fabrication has been used in the production of these chips. Decrease in the size of the chips allows for less power consumption and efficient manufacturing. Although there are smart phones which come with 64GB internal storage, they are very rare. Besides, most of the HD content at present is downloaded and viewed locally.

Adding more onboard memory is a way to increase profit margins. For example, there is a difference of $200 between the high end iPhone from Apple and its 16GB variant. Besides, Samsung has also released the 64GB version of its Galaxy S3.

The chips mostly employed in the smart phones are present are called “Pro Class 1500″, while the new chip manufactured by Samsung would be called “64GB eMMC Pro Class 2000.” Chips being used at present have the ability of reading data at the rate of 140 MB per second while they can write the data up to 50 MB per second, which is significantly slower compared to the new chips.

Significant decrease in the size of the new chip has given it the physical dimensions of 11.5mm by 13mm, compared to 12mm by 16mm size of the previously used chips. While we have 64GB chips ready to be installed in the devices, Samsung has also announced the launch of 128GB eMMC chips in smart phones from next year. These chips are included in the Pro Class 1500 lineup form Samsung.

These new chips were developed on the existing factory line up of Samsung where the previously used chips are also being developed.

While the specs like the processor speed and RAM are quite important when it comes to smart phones, it seems that the display of the device is also becoming highly important and more and more companies are paying attention on it. Recently, HTC released its HTC J Butterfly smart phones which would be the first smart phone with full HD display. Now sources have revealed that Samsung and LG are also working on similar smart phones with HD display.

According to the information, both companies would be launching full-HD active matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) and liquid-crystal display (LCD) in the first half of next year. LG has recently showcased a prototype for its smart phone with 5 inch display and full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Screen density of the display happens to be 440 pixels per inch which is quite similar to HTC J Butterfly which is also a 5 inch Super LCD 3 display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and pixel density of 440 ppi.

Other than Samsung and LG, it was also speculated about Sony that the company would soon launch a 1080p display smart phone which is code named C660X Yuga or the C650X Odin. Samsung on the other hand, just like most of its previous devices, would be using AMOLED display for its HD smart phones.

This trend of launching smart phone with full HD display is not only confined to big tech giants and various lesser known brands are also out in the market soon. For instance, a Korean handset maker with the name of Pantech and Sharp are both planning to launch their smart phones with 1080p display. In a recently held CEATEC event, sharp displayed its 5 inch full HD display whose pixel density was 443ppi. Other than Sharpe, Pantech smart phone with full HD display is expected to hit the market in the first half of the next year.

So while there is only one full HD display device from HTC at present, we can expect several others to be launched in the first half of 2013.

The most recent announcement from Samsung happens to be Galaxy Music smart phone which was announced by the company on October 9. As the name suggests, this device specifically aims at exceptional music experience with enhanced sound quality. This phone was included in the list of the smart phones that was released a few days ago by Samsung. The phones on the list were to have the Android Jelly Bean update soon.

Previously it was thought that the device is a portable media player but sources soon found that it was instead a smart phone. According to the details, Galaxy Music is basically a mid range device which would come with a 3-inch QVGA TFT display and a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. To facilitate one-touch access to music tracks, the smart phone would also have a dedicated button.

Other important technical specs of the phone include a RAM memory of 1 GB and 4 GB of internal storage capacity. Quite understandably, the memory could be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of the microSD card and music fans would be able to load the phone with loads of music. There would also be a 3 mega pixel backend camera onboard which, however, would have no flash.

Operating system for Galaxy Music happens to be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which would work in conjunction with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. However, the device would soon receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, to the delight of Samsung fans.

According to the official press release, Samsung Galaxy Music would facilitate high speed downloads to facilitate a seamless music and multimedia experience. Quick and convenient access to music would be made possible with the help of the dedicated Music Key. To further enhance the overall music and sound experience, the phone would also come with an FM-radio and a built-in FM-antenna. Besides, there would also be a pair of front-facing loudspeakers. Sound quality would further be improved with the advanced audio features such as Sound Alive and SRS.

Also featuring a built-in WVGA projector, Galaxy Music would also be available in a dual-SIM version with the name of Galaxy Music Duos. So far there is no official information regarding the price or the exact release date of the device.

Reliable tech sources have revealed that Samsung has announced a statement according to which Jelly Bean update would be made available for Samsung Galaxy S3 in October. This would be another milestone for Samsung Galaxy S3, which has already sold 20 million units within the first 100 days of its launch. If this turns out to be true, and chances are that it would, Galaxy S3 would have the Jelly Bean update only after four or five months of its official release.

Other than some bug fixes and minor new features, Jelly Bean would also come with Google Now personal assistance which, according to Google, is more intuitive and effective than Apple’s Siri. Besides, Google Now would also incorporate Google’s semantic and search capabilities for mobile devices. Galaxy S3, which was available under Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network starting from July 12, at present runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Attractive retail prices are available for the consumers, thanks to the tough competition between the major carriers and retailers of the US.

Technical features, both from hardware and software aspects, of Samsung Galaxy S3 are highly impressive. The device has support for Near Field Communication (NFC) and comes with one of the largest screens with high resolution display, which is although not as good as iPhone’s Retina Display. Having the ability of simultaneously capturing HD videos and images, the device has some remarkable features that cannot be found on any other smart phone in the market at present. The S Beam application, coupled with the Wireless NFC technology, allows the users of Galaxy S3 the wireless sharing of data between their devices. Besides, wireless retail payment processing facilities are also provided using the apps like Google wallet.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is the first handset in the US to offer a RAM memory of 2 GB. Other important technical specs of the device include 2100 mA battery facilitating 15 hours of battery life, 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 8 mega pixel back end camera and 1.9 mega pixel front end camera, and a huge 4.80 inch Super AMOLED display. Samsung’s own TouchWiz UX UI interface has been used in conjunction with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which provides a remarkable display. Overall, Galaxy S3 is already one of the very best devices in the market and Jelly Bean update would further increase its worth.

Miracast is the latest technology introduced by the WiFi alliance which, on the lines of Apple AirPlay wireless streaming standards, would allow the users to shunt around the content using the WiFi Direct. So far, the Miracast technology has not been used on any device in the market, although now it seems that the situation is about to change since it might appear on two major Android devices: Samsung Galaxy S3 and LG Optimus G.

So far, Optimus G has not been released so it would certainly take some time before the technology is actually operational on these devices. However, both these devices have been named Miracast compatible and the technology is set to be implemented on them in near future.

Considering the tough targets that Apple has been setting for its competitors, we can expect the implementation of this technology on a vast scale in future. This would include almost all digital devices such as different kinds of TVs, set-top boxes, laptops, smartphones, tablets and other entertainment devices. Probability is that, in near future, next generation TVs and Realtek network cards from Samsung would feature the direct Mircast certification. Other than that, various components developed by tech giants such as Broadcom, Intel, Marvell, MediaTek and Ralink would also be used in other technology gear. So there is a lot of scope for expansion of this technology and according to the expectations and estimates, this technology standard would be supported by around 1.5 million devices by 2016, which is certainly quite impressive. These devices would be identified by their WiFi-certified logos.

Other than Samsung, this is a pretty good move from LG since the technology would be available on Optimus G from the very start. This year has been pretty good for the company so far and after emerging out of the loss of seven straight quarters, the company seems to be doing well. The choice of Galaxy S3, on the other hand, seems quite obvious since Galaxy S3 is among the very best devices in the Android ecosystem and it would be an obvious choice for the implementation of a new technology. The previous model from the Galaxy series, S2, faced the same kind of success and VIP treatment and Galaxy S3 is following the path quite successfully.

Although the main attraction during the IFA event of Samsung at Berlin was Galaxy Note 2, the company also released several Windows 8 devices, including the first Windows 8 smart phone called Samsung Ativ S. Additionally, Samsung has also introduced a new brand with the name of ATIV for its Windows based devices to be launched in near future. Other than the above mentioned smart phone, these devices include ATIV Tab, and Windows 8 Pro notebook/tablet hybrids called Smart PC and Smart PC Pro.

Samsung’s announcement of Ativ S came as a surprise for most tech analysts, since they were expecting that Nokia, being the official partner of Microsoft, would come up with the first Windows 8 based phone. In addition to surprising everyone with the announcement, Samsung has also made sure that the device contains some amazing technical specs. These specs include a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, and 1 GB of RAM memory. Additionally, it would be available in two models of 16 GB and 32 GB.

The ATIV tab, which was also announced during the same event, would be a 10.1-inch tab running Microsoft Windows RT. It would come packed with a variety of Windows app such as Internet Explorer, Bing, Microsoft Office and others. Other than having a USB port and uHDMI, the ATIV Tab would have a 5 mega pixel back end camera and a 1.9 megapixel front end camera. Samsung, however, has not announced the exact release date or price of these devices, although it is quite clear that it would hit the market after October 26, the day when Microsoft would officially launch Windows 8.

Talking about the two notebook/tablet hybrids which were also announced during the same Berlin event, they would both come with Windows 8 Pro. The notebooks would contain 11.6-inch screens and would also have backward compatibility for Windows 7. The two notebooks are named ATIV Smart PC and Smart PC Pro. Out of these, Smart PC Pro would run on Intel Core i5 CPU while the other one, ATIV Smart PC, would come with next-gen Intel Atom CPU. A notable fact is that Samsung has introduced Galaxy Note’s S-Pen digitizer with these two notebooks as well, which could be used to draw images, graphics and doodles on the display of these devices. As for the price and release date of these notebooks, no official information is available so far.

Samsung has been innovating quite a lot lately and in a recent move, the company announced a new smart phone with the name of Galaxy S Duos. While the physical structure of this phone would be quite similar to Galaxy S3, there is one thing that distinguishes it from all other smart phones: it would have the facility of supporting two SIM cards simultaneously. This would greatly enhance the facility for many users who, for some reason, have to use networks of more than one carriers and have trouble in managing their calls.

With a dual-SIM facility, users would be able to take two calls from two different carriers on the same device without any need of switching the SIM cards. This would be particularly advantageous for people who have to work on one carrier and use the other carrier in personal life. In the official announcement, Samsung said that the amazing new “Dual SIM Always On” feature would enable you to receive calls from one SIM while taking another call from the other SIM. According to Samsung, this feature gives you the opportunity to choose billing plans for each SIM.

Technical specifications of Galaxy S Duos include a 4-inch 480x 800 TFT touchscreen, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 1 GHz processor, 4 GB of internal storage capacity and 5 mega pixel rear end camera. While the technical specs are not among the very best in the market, the feature of Dual-SIM almost makes for everything else. There are also some crucial difference from Galaxy S3 in terms of technical specs, since S3 has better display and camera, other than having larger internal storage. Compared to 4 GB of Galaxy S Duos, S3 comes in 16 and 32 GB models. Besides, there is a massive 8 mega pixel rear end camera on Galaxy S3.

Just like we have been providing reliable unlocking services for all other smart phones in the market, we would also provide unlocking services for both SIMs of Galaxy S Duos. Unlocking is performed through the simple and efficient method of IMEI unlock. As per the official announcement, the device would be available in the European market starting from next month. However, so far there is no official word about the launch of the phone in the rest of the world.
