Google Nexus tablet might be unveiled in July

Rumors and speculations about Google Nexus tablet are on rise these days and according to the latest platoon of rumors, Google might unveil this highly anticipated device in the month of July. What’s more, Google Nexus tablet might come with Android 5.0 Jelly Beans!

According to the industry sources, Google has been working in collaboration with Asus on a dedicated Google tablet that would be 7 inch in size and hence come with a price tag somewhere around $250 or less. The device might be displayed during the Google I/O conference next month. The hardware of the device has been built by Asus and rumor also has it that Google would not only showcase the device during the above mentioned event, it would also give one unit to each developer attending the conference. But of course, the news is based on rumors and does not have any official confirmation as yet.

The main competitor for Google in the domain of 7 inch tablets, of course, would be Amazon Kindle Fire. Kindle Fire took the market by storm when it was introduced in the fall of last year. The success of Kindle Fire was anticipated by no one, not even Amazon, since no one considered a 7 inch tablet worth much. Kindle Fire, however, transformed the opinion and several tech giants, including Samsung and Asus, released their 7 inch tablets after that. Now with a 7 inch Google tablet, we do expect that Amazon would find a tough rival. Similar to Asus Transformer Prime tablet, the Google Nexus tablet would come with nVidia Tegra 3 processor. Apparently the launch of the tablet was delayed because Google wanted to fix the technical specs in order to reduce the price of the device.

Google’s partnership with Asus might seem strange since Google recently completed the acquisition of smart phones marker Motorola Mobility. Anyways, that is more of a business decision and would have less or nothing to do with the technical aspects of the device. There are also rumors that Google would launch five devices this fall running the next version of Android named Android 5.0 Jelly Beans. Details about this operating system, however, are unknown. Besides, there is no official information from Google regarding the technical specs, price or exact release date of Google Nexus tablet. For that, we would have to wait till the Google I/O conference where we can expect some announcement.
