Rumors regarding a new tablet from Google called Samsung Nexus 10

As if the leaked images of LG Nexus 4 were not sufficient, some photographs of the upcoming 10 inch tablet from Google called Samsung Nexus 10 have also emerged over the internet. Among several other things, these leaked photographs tell that the tablet would be running the latest updated version of Android. The photos also depict this device to have curvy sides and a backend camera.

This tablet, along with Nexus 4 smart phone, was to be announced during the Google event planned at the New York City. However, the event had to be postponed due to Hurricane Sandy, although it is expected to be rescheduled pretty soon. From the leaked images it is clear that the tablet would have metallic rear and the brand Nexus would be printed above the Samsung logo. The plastic used on the device is quite similar to that used on the 7 inch version of the tablet.

Among the reported technical specs of the new device, we have 1.7 GHz Samsung Exynos processor, a screen resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and 2 GB of RAM memory. The device would also have dual embedded speakers and support for NFC technology. There would be a 5 megapixels backend camera on board and finally, the tablet would have 16 GB of internal storage capacity. As per the sources, there would be no support for microSD card which shows that Google is relying on new Drive and Play Store used for Cloud storage.

The processer used in this 10 inch tablet is the same that has previously been used in the latest version of Google Chromebook. The dual core processor certainly seems better than Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro and Apple A6 SoCs.

2560×1600 pixels display resolution of the device tells that it would have a pixel density of about 298.9 ppi. This pixel density is higher than the new iPad which comes with a pixel density of 263.92. Overall, the technical specs of the device seem to be highly impressive and it would certainly make a difference in the market of 10 inch tablets. We might just have a fairly good competitor for iPad finally.
