Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 – inch version with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Samsung recently upgraded the second generation version of its 7 inch tablet with a third generation version, although there are not any radical changed in the upgraded version. The 7 inch tablet from Samsung has proven to be quite successful in the market, although not as successful as the likes of Amazon Kindle Fire and Google Nexus 7. Other than the 7 inch model, Samsung also has its 8 inch and 10.1 inch variants in the market.

The resolution on Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 would be same as on the previous version, that is, 1024×600 pixels. The physical structure of the new device has been slightly altered, with the new model containing thinner bezel compared to the previous version. There have also been some improvements in the technical specs of the device. For instance, Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 would be powered by a 1.2 GHz processor compared to 1 GHz on Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. The RAM, however, remains same at 1 GB. Besides, the backend camera is also the same 3 megapixel camera although the front-facing camera has been upgraded from a simple VGA shooter to a 1.3 megapixel camera.

Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 would give users two memory options of 8 GB and 16 GB. Other than that, there would also be the option of further expanding the internal storage up to 64 GB, thanks to the support for microSD card. The net weight of the new device happens to be 306g which is quite reasonable. Besides, the physical dimensions of the new tablet would be 188 x 111.1 x 9.9 mm. The specs are quite reasonable, although there aren’t any major differences compared to the previous version.

Talking about the software features of the new device, it would come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which would run over Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 would be available in new Gold-Brown color variant, as per the revealed information, which is against the usual Samsung precedence of releasing its tablets in either white or black color variants. The 8 inch and 10.1 inch versions of the device would hit the market in June, although the exact release date of the 7 inch device is not known for the time being. So far Samsung tablets have been doing pretty good in the domain of tablet devices. Let’s see if Samsung is able to improve its presence in this domain with the new generation version.
