Samsung has finally launched one of the most highly waited devices of this year, Samsung Galaxy S3, during its event in London. Although actual reality would be unveiled later, but the initial reviews of the phone seem to be highly impressive and appreciative. It seems that this device would certainly give iPhone 5 tough time.
Important technical specs of Galaxy S3 include a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display, 1.4 GHz quad core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 8 mega pixel rare end and 1.9 mega pixel front end camera, and physical dimensions of 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm. there would also be a powerful 2,100mAh battery in the device. Finally, Galaxy S3 would be released in three main models: 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. For devices with low space, memory can be expanded up to 64 GB with microSD card.
A slight disappointment that many people felt was the absence of the Super AMOLED Plus display. Samsung, instead, decided to go for PenTile matrix in a Super AMOLED HD screen which isn’t bad either. The GPU that we would find on this device, according to Samsung, happens to be 65% faster than the one in Samsung Galaxy S2. This phone would also have support for 4G LTE and LTE devices would be released in the market where this technology is available. So we can consider the American, Japanese and Korean markets among the foremost receivers of the LTE equipped devices. Most probably we would have two versions of the phone: One with LTE and one without it.
There have been some fine improvements and enhancements on the software front. First and foremost we have the S Voice, which is Samsung’s version of Apple’s Siri, that is, a complete voice operated assistant. You can perform all the operations of your phone with voice commands using S Voice which at present has support for 8 languages. Android Beam has been changed into Samsung’s own S Beam which has similar but improved features. Besides, there is also support for NFC technology. Overall, there are a lot of other impressive features as well and Galaxy S3 can be considered a great device for your money. Worldwide release of the device would take place on 29th of May and would follow in the US market this summer.
