Rumors regarding the next generation version of Galaxy Note

The launch date of the next generation version of Samsung Galaxy Note is not very far. Samsung just released a teaser video of the device on its YouTube channel. The video, however, does not provide any information regarding the technical specs or price of the device. One thing that is clear from this video is that, just like the first generation version, this version would also come with S Pen. Other than that, there isn’t much of an information in the video. Appearance of Wim Wenders, the famous German film director, in the video, however, was something unique.

It is expected that the launch of the device would be announced by Samsung on August 29 before the IFA trade fair. Although there isn’t any official word regarding the technical specs of the device, there are rumors and speculations, as always. According to these rumors, Samsung Galaxy Note II would come with Super AMOLED 5-inch screen having a display resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Other important technical specs include 8 megapixel back end camera and a quad-core processor.

In related news, Samsung recently launched the 10.1 inch tablet version of Galaxy Note in the US, UK and South Korean market. Galaxy Note 10.1 would be available in three versions: 3G+WiFi version, WiFi only version and LTE version. The 16 GB version of the device, in the US market, is available at a price of $499 while the 32 GB version is available for $549. support for microSD card, to expand the internal memory, is also available.

So far, the operating system for the tablet happens to be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. However, Jelly Bean update might soon be made available as well, although there is no official information as to when this update would be made available. Galaxy Note 10.1 would also come with S Pen and infrared sensor.

Original version of Samsung Galaxy Note proved to be quite successful, despite the predictions of it being a failure, and Samsung recently announced that it has sold more than 10 million units of its Galaxy Note. Given the success of this concept of blending a tablet and a smartphone, other tech giants have also followed the suit and the release of Optimus Vu from LG is a step in the similar direction.
